About the client

Our client is a software engineering and outsourcing company founded in 2017, building web, mobile, AI and automotive software for clients in Japan and the US. Its automotive teams work on embedded, AUTOSAR and Android Automotive projects.

The role

• AOSP development and customisation (GAS and non-GAS) for vehicle features: navigation, climate, telephony, media
• Develop and integrate the Vehicle HAL (VHAL)
• Android framework integration and testing: SELinux, CTS/VTS, third-party software
• Work with OEMs on Android Auto and Apple CarPlay certification
• OTA management and system performance
• Where applicable: cluster and Android on hypervisors (QNX, Xen); ADAS, SOA, SDV

The successful applicant

• 3–8 years of experience in Android platform or automotive software
• Deep knowledge of Android Framework and Platform: BSP, kernel, AIDL, HAL, SELinux, build system, boot
• C/C++, Python, Java; embedded tools (Lauterbach, GDB); Git/Gerrit, CI/CD
• RTOS, multithreading; CAN, LIN, SPI, TCP/UDP; CANoe/CANalyzer/CANape or Wireshark
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 and ISO 21434; automotive SoCs (Qualcomm, NXP) an advantage
• Strong problem solving and self-learning
