Civil Engineer (Chinese-speaking) – Metro Line 2

About the client

An established railway engineering company from China working on Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 2 (Ben Thanh – Tham Luong, 11 stations, 10 underground). This role sits on the construction site and works closely with the Chinese-speaking project team.

The role

• Supervise and monitor daily civil engineering works at the MRT construction site
• Check that works follow project specifications, drawings and safety requirements
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and project teams to keep site operations running smoothly
• Track construction progress and report site issues to project management
• Help resolve technical and operational issues on site
• Communicate in Chinese (Mandarin) with project teams and management

The successful applicant

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Hands-on experience working as an engineer on construction sites
• Able to communicate effectively in Chinese (Mandarin) with project teams and management
• Willing to work outdoors on an MRT construction site every day
• Able to handle the physical demands of on-site construction work
• Able to coordinate with site supervisors, contractors and other project staff

What's on offer

• Gross salary VND 35–45 million per month, based on experience and skills
• Normally 8:00–18:00, about 4 days off per month arranged around the project
• Overtime, transport, meal, phone and site allowances agreed separately
• Long-term work on a major metro project in Ho Chi Minh City
