Civil Engineer / Site Monitoring Engineer – Metro Line 2

About the client

An established railway engineering company from China supporting construction monitoring on Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 2 (Ben Thanh – Tham Luong, 11 stations, 10 underground).

The role

• Support construction monitoring on HCMC Metro Line 2
• Visit sites regularly and carry out day-to-day monitoring
• Help monitoring work run smoothly and help resolve issues on site
• Coordinate with project staff and other parties when needed
• Provide English–Vietnamese or Chinese–Vietnamese communication and translation support where needed (supporting task, not the main purpose of the role)
• Apply civil engineering, surveying or construction knowledge to project monitoring

The successful applicant

• Civil engineering or construction experience, or a civil / related engineering degree
• Surveying background is a strong advantage
• Meet at least one of: good English; good Chinese; a Surveyor / Surveying Engineer certificate
• Comfortable working on construction sites on a regular basis
• Strong sense of responsibility and good communication skills
• Able to follow the actual site schedule
• Openings: about 5 English–Vietnamese and 1 Chinese–Vietnamese

What's on offer

• Gross salary VND 20–45 million per month, based on experience, surveying qualifications and language skills; strong profiles can negotiate higher
• Normally 8:00–18:00, about 4 days off per month arranged around the project
• Overtime, transport, meal, phone and site allowances agreed separately
• Long-term work on a major metro project
