Senior Structural / Bridge Engineer – MRT Line 2

About the client

An established railway engineering company from China with several years of operations in Hanoi, now growing its Ho Chi Minh City office to support large railway and infrastructure projects in Vietnam. The HCMC team is expected to grow from about 23 to around 45 people next year. The role sits in the design team for Vietnam MRT Line 2.

The role

• Carry out structural design for MRT/LRT elevated stations or viaducts and related civil works
• Prepare calculation reports, structural analysis and load combinations to Eurocodes and Vietnamese standards
• Prepare and check construction drawings
• Coordinate with architectural, MEP, track and geotechnical teams
• Review and close design comments from the client and third-party consultants
• Attend design meetings, present design proposals and prepare technical correspondence

The successful applicant

• Bachelor's degree or above in Civil or Structural Engineering
• At least 8 years of hands-on structural design experience (site construction management alone does not meet this requirement)
• Working knowledge of Eurocodes and Vietnamese standards
• Experience with structural FEM software such as STAAD, ETABS, MIDAS Civil, SCIA Engineer, RFEM, SOFiSTiK or ADSEC
• Fluent English
• MRT/LRT elevated station or viaduct design is an advantage; strong bridge or large infrastructure design experience is also considered
• Able to present in Vietnamese is an advantage

What's on offer

• Gross salary VND 40–60 million per month
• Monthly performance bonus of 0–30% of base salary
• Work on Vietnam MRT Line 2 with an experienced international engineering team
• Office in Thao Dien; 8:00–17:30 with a 1.5-hour lunch break, alternate Saturdays
